On April 24, 2023, a class action settlement was preliminarily approved in Ayala v. U.S. Xpress, Inc. et al., Case No. 5:16-cv-00137-GW-KK (C.D. Cal.).  The settlement provides a total settlement fund of $4.69 million on behalf of a class of just under 1,000 California-based truck drivers who were employed by U.S. Xpress.  The settlement was reached after over seven years of hard-fought litigation and three days of a jury trial.  The Court granted Final Approval of the class action settlement in September 2023, closing out this long hard fought lawsuit.
