DHKL and Co-Counsel win trial victory against City of Los Angeles requiring sweeping upgrades to City parks
November 20, 2025
DHKL and co-counsel Schneider Wallace Cottrell Kim, Disability Rights Advocates, and Law Office of Paula Pearlman won a trial verdict from U.S. District Court Judge R. Gary Klausner of the Central District of California that orders the City of Los Angeles to make sweeping upgrades to City parks on behalf of a class of hundreds of thousands of persons with mobility disabilities. The trial team proved that the City of Los Angeles failed to ensure that its newly constructed and altered park facilities are readily accessible to and useable by persons with mobility disabilities. The Court’s order requires the City to perform systemwide barrier removal and comply with applicable disability access design standards going forward.
Plaintiffs and the certified class of persons with mobility disabilities are represented by DHKL attorneys Linda Dardarian, Andrew Lee, Ginger Grimes, and Christian Giannini.
